WANTED: Wilford Leshaad Sermons

Wilford Leshaad Sermons is wanted by the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office for failing to Register as a Sex Offender. Sermons was one of fourteen suspects arrested as the result of an online undercover investigation known as, “Operation Broken Arrow,” established to arrest individuals who communicate with children on social media and travel to meet the child for the purpose of exploitation or assault.

Wilford Sermons believed he was having explicit communication with a child online, the person he was talking to was actually an undercover investigator. Sermons discussed meeting the presumed child to, what GBI referred to as, “engage in prearranged sex acts.” He traveled to the predetermined location with the intent to sexually assault a child, but was instead greeted by law enforcement and an arrest warrant with his name on it.

Sermons was arrested on February 9th, 2020, and charged with Obscene Internet Contact With a Child, and Use of Computer Service to Seduce, Solicit, Lure, or Entice Child to Commit Illegal Act. Both charges regard a child under fourteen years old.

February 10th, 2022, Sermons entered a guilty plea to Obscene Internet Contact With a Child, and the Assistant District Attorney of the Southern Judicial Circuit dropped the charge of Use of Computer Service to Seduce, Solicit, Lure, or Entice Child to Commit Illegal Act. Sermons was sentenced to 10 years probation, 120 community service hours, a $1,000 fine, as well as the suspension of having to serve 180 in a detention center as long as he followed his sex offender probation requirements.

An arrest warrant for a probation violation was issued on August 3rd, 2023, due to violating multiple requirements. It is currently unclear if this warrant has actually been served to Sermons, since no additional information has been filed and Sermons is listed as an absconder.

Sermons is 5 foot 7 inches tall, 195 – 220 pounds, Black, has black hair and brown eyes, has a nose piercing, and may wear glasses. He may go by Wilford Sermons, Leshaad Sermons, Wilford Sermon, Wilford L Sermons or Wilford Serms. Sermons has connections to Hahira and the greater Lowndes county area, Georgia, as well as Inglewood and Montclair, California. He also has alleged employment connections to Cheyenne, Wyoming and has previously driven to Florida for work.
