BRIEF
In 1997 Kemberly Ramer was starting her senior year of high school in Opp, Alabama where she lived with her father. Kemberly was also planning for college and enjoying every moment of her last year in high school with friends, sports, and all the milestones that she worked towards in school.
On the weekend of August 15 in 1997, everything Kemberly worked for, everything her parents were looking forward to watching her experience, was taken away from her family before they even knew anything happened. It was a busy weekend filled with sports, senior pictures and friends. Kemberly ended her Friday night on August 15th the same way most teens do, hanging out with her friends and her boyfriend.
Kemberly lived with her father but was very involved in the lives of both of her parents. Her parents were divorced and Kemberly chose to live with her Dad so she could finish school in Opp, Alabama. Her father was in and out of the house all weekend but was not home much as he had plans most of the weekend. By Sunday morning he noticed that Kemberly’s car was at home but she was not responding to him and did not respond to a note he left her the day before.
After looking for Kemberly around the house, he called her mother to see if maybe Kemberly was with her. Unfortunately, she was not and her mother said that she thought Kemberly was at her father’s house.
In the words of her mother, “Kemberly had it made.” No one even considered that she may have ran away with someone or chose to leave without telling anyone where she was going.
After notifying law enforcement, a few key details eventually emerged in the search for Kemberly. On Friday night, someone made phone calls from Kemberly’s house that she shared with her father. The calls were placed in the middle of the night to numbers that no one in the home could recognize. All the calls were made to a certain geographic area but none of the calls were answered.
Kemberly’s bedroom also appeared to have a few indicators that something happened. The room was not completely out of the ordinary, but there were a few things that were concerning and out of ordinary, indicating that Kemberly may not have left willingly.
At the time of her disappearance Kemberly was 17-years-old with clear braces on her teeth. She was around 5 feet and 4 inches tall, 130 pounds.

They have stated that Kemberly did not leave the home that night of her free will and that there is indications of that fact.
